Coaches – Every team requires a coach and a backup qualified coach is always helpful. This is a great way to be involved in your children’s sport and give back to the sport you love. No matter what your experience HJRL and the NRL have courses and support programmes to help guide you through along with the support of the Colts. Managers – Every team requires a manager and a back up manager. Their role is to help organise the team, record player attendance, submit team entries and results. This is a role that requires you to complete the online course and register through Playrugbyleague.com website and through Hunter Junior Rugby League website. Sports Trainers and League Safe – Each team is required to have coverage of either Legue Safe or First Aid. Another great way to be involved in sport and support your children. Training is supplied when completing the courses and support from the Colts as well. Registration and courses can be found through playrugbyleague.com and through Hunter Junior Rugby League website. Ground Manager – This role is important at every game, another great way to support your child in sport. This role requires you to inspect the field, check relevant first responders, engage with spectators to support the code of conduct and make sure game day equipment is ready to go. Canteen Helper- Each team is allocated time to assist in the canteen over the season. You do not need any experience as you will be shown what to do. But we are always looking for some help in our canteen.
We require all canteen helpers to have their safe food handling certificate. This can be applied for online by clicking the link at Food Handler Basics training | NSW Food Authority.

Bar Helper– On our senior game days we operate the bar. We would love some help even if it was for half a game. To help in the bar you are required to have your current RSA. Service NSW can assist you with how to obtain your RSA. If you are able to help in some capacity please email gretabranxtonrlfc@gmail.com
Up Coming Courses-All online and local Face to Face workshops are listed on the NRL Learning Center. These courses need to be completed by the beginning of the season. Late registrations will not be taken. If your team does not have one of the key roles such as coach, manager, ground manager or sports trainer for their games then the team may have to forfeit.
Working With Children’s Check- It is also a requirement of the Hunter Junior Rugby League that “ALL” volunteers must have a valid NSW Working With Children Check before registering as a rugby league volunteer. Regardless of whether you are a close relative of a participant or not you, you still require a clearance:
